10 things of happiness…

The other day i was tagged by my new blogo-friend Andrea from Sitting Booths to name the 10 things that make me happy. This list can be really massive if i want to cause i am quite easy to please. Actually this “request” could not have been more appropriate as i am going through a moody phase and making this list of things that make me happy reminded me of those things and made me smile. So thank you Andrea! Here are my 10 things that are not in order of happiness!

Happy_101_Award

1.Surprises and gifts
surprises-and-gifts
Who doesn’t love a surprise or a gift? I love doing that to friends and see their happy faces. I think i am actually getting more pleasure than they do! A recent gift that i got was by my friend Christiana from Fashion Paths, and it was this pair of burgundy pumps from Uterque that lucky me, they are not quite right for her but their perfect for me! And as i am not shopping anything, this has been a very welcome addition to my wardrobe!

2.Animals, my pets

samson
I think you already know that i absolutely love animals! Especially my cats. In the above photo is Samson that he passed away last December. I was really close to him and i miss him dearly. There are times that i am visiting my parents and i think i am going to see him coming close to me and asking for a hug. I have another cat now, Clio, and one of the nicest moments of the day is when i am coming home from a long day and i am sitting next to her.

3.looooong walks

infinite walks
Walking makes me happy and calms me down. I love walking in Athens or in cities but i also love walking in the country, smelling the air and noticing colors and things that i wouldn’t otherwise.

4.Knitting

yarn balls
Knitting is something that i learned from my mum and it really makes me happy. The colors of the yarns, the sound of the needles, is just so pleasing to me. I have recently started attending knitting classes so as to learn different techniques, and i am loving it! Plus the feeling of wearing your own knitted scarf is amazing!

5.Friends and family

friends
They make me happy, they make me sad but it doesn’t matter, they are the people in my life that i could not live without. The above photograph was taken some years ago while in holidays and this is how i picture me and my girlfriends when we will be in our 60s. 5 of us in our towels and one of us in the sea still swimming! (u know who u are)

6.reading books and magazines

books
When i am reading my book or a magazine i am in my own little world, actually in the books little world and that is something that really makes me happy! I can’t imagine my life without books and something to read. It is as if words are an extension of myself that if i was to loose them i would be really unhappy.

7.bits and bobs

bitsandbobs
Collecting things makes me really happy. It is a bit compulsive but i can’t help it. I collect buttons, tickets, pretty much anything, cause for some reason i always think that i am going to use it for some reason, somewhere.

8.making things

making_things
As with knitting and collecting, making things makes me super happy. A necklace, a table, a picture…anything that i am in the mood to make. It is not always a success but it really doesn’t matter cause the process itself of making something is really rewarding!

9.holidays

holidays
I mean who is not happy when on holidays? I am most content when after a long swim in the sea, i am laying in the sand and i can feel the sea water in my skin. That’s happiness.

10.making lists

makinglists
Lists make me really happy. I tend to make lists about almost everything that i have to do, shopping, things to do, and then very religiously i erase things from the list and i feel content and happy. Stupid? May be but we all have our vices no?

Those were some of the things that make me happy, and i would like to nominate some people that i think this period need to be reminded why they should feel happy and smile! So here we go, Mairyliscious, Nina, Hari, Living Athens.

α, κι εμένα με κάνουν χαρούμενη όσα αναφέρεις στη λίστα σου, εκτός από το πλέξιμο που δεν ξέρω! δεν θα με χάλαγε να μάθω όμως! καλό σ/κ! :)

I’m so happy the shoes are right for you! They found their place next to the skatouli ones! Burgundy colour is one of my favorite ones. I even have it on a lipstick & bag & lip pencil and bla bla bla!!

I must admit I love surprises too, especially those little “unexpected words” you may hear and can make your day!

    Have a nice weekend!

i loved reading Thalia! How fun to receive gifts and give them, those red shoes are pretty sweet. That pic of the ladies in their bathing suits is the best! I hope I end up on a beach somewhere in Greece when I’m older too :)
