Today is my last day at work and tmr i am off for almost a month and to be honest i can’t wait!
The above picture was taken last year on board and i thought it is suitable to describe my mood at the moment.
Closing for holidays means that i am most probably not posting anything for 3 weeks and there will be no updates on the NOT shop project. Which reminds me that i haven’t really said anything about it lately. That is not because i have abandoned the idea. To the contrary it has become so much part of myself that i do not even think about it anymore. This week i put myself to the greatest test of all: sales and cheap thrills.
Well i am proud to announce you that Miss Thaloura walked in the shop, browsed, did not try anything on, and then walked out of the shop.
Huge smile and not a small feeling of regret.
That is a personal success my friends don’t you think?
Anyways there will be more posts about the NOT shop project when i came back and of course a brief description of what i have been up to.
I truly hope you all have an amazing summer no matter where you spent it. The most important is who you spent it with.
xx
…is a soap brand that comes from Argentina and they have been making soaps since 1937! Pretty impressive ha? I am in love with their soaps and the smells they have. My personal favorites are caramel and cinnamon. Their logo reminds kind of art deco art and the colors are inspired by the smells and colors that their soaps have. Luckily enough there is one in Athens in Ag. Anargiron 31, Psirri. Do pay a visit it is truly worth it!
Since i started this blog i have my camera with me at all times just to make sure that i am able to capture anything that seems of interest to me. This means that i end up with an abundance of photos and draft posts that never see the ray of light. This past week i ve been going over my photos and i chose to share with you some photos of moments of visiting Christoph Buchel with Elena.
Parking Number Fun @Christoph Buchel “Unplugged”,2007
Who said that exhibition’s can’t be surprising and physically demanding? @Christoph Buchel “Unplugged”,2007
Those of you that had the chance and the luck to visit “Unplugged” by Christoph Buchel you know what I am talking about when i say physically demanding. Swiss artist Christoph Büchel is famous for his conceptual creations and large scale installations. There is a clear political thread running through all his work.
Unplugged (Simply Botiful) is a complex installation that forces the audience to participate in physically demanding and psychologically unsettling scenarios as they make their way through narrow tunnels and claustrophobic rooms. Büchel explores the variable relationship between security and confinement and assigns the public the ambivalent role of victim / voyeur.
The work is part of the Dimitris Daskalopoulos Collection of Contemporary Art and was exhibited with his courtesy. via
…is probably one of my things. I think i ve been quite lucky so far that i have worked in companies that did not mind my office looking like a playground. What do i mean? I spent most of my day at the office (that is about 12 hours) so it needs to feel home and have whatever i might need during those long hours. But you are thinking what has gotten me posting about my desk in the middle of the summer? Well this is my last week at work and then holidays, so i did have to pay a tribute don’t you think?
1.i like to bring food from home. that means that i am usually caring more than one bag not to mention the coffee cup. I also have a repulsion towards plastic bags so i always carry food, or books in a canvas bag.
2.when i can i like to have Daisy with me. Yesterday it was the first day that she came to me at work and that was pretty much her state the whole day that she was at the office. loved the fact that at times she felt like putting her head in my feet. pure bliss.
3. i collect things. this can be really frustrating for the lady that cleans the office. those little figures have been with me for 2 years now and they have brightened up my days from time to time. The photobooth photographs are from Vogue’s night out with Christiana. They just make me smile.
4.question mark. says it all. for difficult times of wondering and brainstorming. cute monsters with colors were a gift.
5.post-its. basically my life could be encompassed in millions of post-its. i love them. (i also love starbucks…i mean u can kind of tell no?)
6.i am sure you are thinking that is irrelevant. well no. i have a thing with color coordination which means that my clothes…
…have to match my pen. or to put it right my pen matches my clothes.
i know it is weird but it makes my day when i look at my moleskine and see all these different colors. Life at the office doesn’t have to be dull! I am sure you guys have your little habits…
…are a SKA band of 8 from Athens! I had the pleasure of listening to them live last Friday at Tiki bar and these guys sure rock! Enjoy some photos that we took with Dimitrouela’s camera from that night and be sure to check their myspace! The Smoking Barrels are also about to release their first album so stay tuned!
